I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.
Excitement over this savory cold treat never ends at Lecheria Las Lapas. Our original recipe in 2001 was copied from a Pennsylvania Dutch cookbook and made exactly as we used to do it growing up in New York, except that here in Costa Rica we didn´t have to pull ice from the pond.
In 2004, we upgraded to a small industrial ice cream machine. Flavor and quality didn´t change. We still use whole fresh milk and cream collected from several days milk. We use Costa Rica´s own cane sugar for sweetening the basic mix, then add flavors of the customers choice while the mix is finished in the ice cream freezer. Current flavors include tropical fruits, strawberries, macadamia nut, coffee, and chocolate, all obtained from Costa Rican growers. We also do the more exotic flavors such as green tea and peanut butter fudge from home spun recipes.
We use the freshest ingredients and closely monitor quality
Every Flavor is customer approved before we bring it to market.
